Dr. Zoran Stevanov Ph.D., worked in acrylic paints, mixed media, bronze, ceramics, and photography. In photography, he specialized in solarized prints and underwater photography.
His painted works include abstracts both free form and geometric. He was also skilled at painting eastern-European style icons, typically featuring gold leaf. His work has been included in exhibitions at the Lynn Kottler Gallery in New York, the Joslin Museum in Omaha, Monroe Art Museum in Louisiana, and the Paula Insel International Gallery in Puerto Rico.
He earned a B.A. Degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1968, and M.F.A. Degree from Wichita State University in 1970, and a Ph.D. Degree in Education from the University of Kansas in 1982.
Dr. Stevanov taught at Emporia State University for three years before coming to Fort Hays State University where he became a professor of art in 1973-2018. As a professor at FHSU, he developed the B.F.A. and M.F.A. photography degrees for FSHU as well as an Art History course for SIAS international. Additionally he created virtual programs for photography, art history and art education for the FHSU virtual college.
